Books, books, we love books!

January 26, 2009

Read them to your little brother

“So please, oh PLEASE, we beg, we pray, Go throw your TV set away, And in its place you can install, A lovely bookshelf on the wall.”

— Roald Dahl, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

Reading aloud in a Charlie and Lola exhibition

Start them young!

“Children are made readers on the laps of their parents.”

— Emilie Buchwald

Reading to Mama

Our basket of library books, which must ALWAYS be returned to the basket…otherwise the library book eating monster gets them!!

The library book eating monster!…not really 🙂

Mmmm; but books are a bit tasty!

Reading to the whole family

“Reading aloud with children is known to be the single most important activity for building the knowledge and skills they will eventually require for learning to read.”

— Marilyn Jager Adams

Get tucked up with a good book today!

Blessings – Leah
