Fighting Bugs!

Joel concentrating very hard on his numeracy skills

It’s day like these when I’m thankful my life is pretty quiet and my home life is simple; no big agenda’s, no where ‘important’ I need to be apart from home, serving my family and raising warriors for the Kingdom of God. Often a child or family member coming down with sickness can be seen and felt like such an inconvenience, especially if we have a ‘different’ agenda! Sometimes the high calling of motherhood means being up all night nursing a child with a fever, cleaning up sick…which ultimately means extra laundry and your legs being clung to 24/7 but this is our life; a blessed life to care for, nurture and restore to health the little ones God has put in our care.

This week we’ve been hit by a sickness bug; Micah came down with it on Wednesday night and is just starting to recover but has no appetite yet; he’s still nursing lots so that will be helping him fight off the virus and build up his immunity – love the power of breast milk! Sleep, breast milk and LOTS of cuddles seems to helping Micah get through, bless him.

Dave came down with it last night and has been laid up in bed all day – in between cuddling Micah and keeping Nyah and Joel busy I’ve been puffing his pillows, taking him a Sunday news paper and making sure he has water and a bowl by the bed!!

Nyah, Joel and myself are feeling fine and are praying we don’t get hit; I’ve been diffusing ‘Thieves Oil’ in various rooms in the house which is great for getting rid of germs and bacteria etc. in the air; well it’s pretty great at most things; check it out here.

The children are now tucked up in bed after a warm lavender bath and a couple of good stories and are snoozing away.

So I’ll leave you with a few images from our week as I go and check on hubby and finish my chores for the evening before hopefully snuggling up in bed to read a few chapters of ‘homemaking’ by J R Miller (it’s recently been renamed ;The Family’); I got the book for Christmas and still haven’t managed to get some decent reading time…it’s my goal to finish it this week!

Micah is always so eager to do whatever Nyah and Joel are doing; this particular day he wanted a work book; so Nyah found a basic one for him and here she is teaching him how to sound out ‘Mmm’ – you can see his little lips sounding it out, SO cute!
Sometimes Mama just needs to get things done!
Here’s Micah fast asleep on my back while I was washing the dishes – he must have been starting to come down with something that day as he just wanted to be cuddled…we don’t mind!

All snuggled up on Mummy’s back and ready for our afternoon walk!
