Born of Love

March 14, 2010

Just wanted to share this beautiful poem my husband Dave wrote to put in the baby’s memory box:

“Born of Love
Confirmed by a test,
two lines were drawn for us,
faint and blue on the edge of white

Two lines so clear, so promisingly bright,
suddenly, deeply, disappear
Leaving nothing but a pregnant pause
A line of time until the next rain falls

Like an unfinished portrait
So quickly washed away,
Like a memory yet to be birthed
or an unsung songbird
Never bound to fly in these heavens skies

And in this moment
Born of love
Confirmed by this test of tests
Two lines we know will never fade
One is marked on my heart
One is burned on yours
Both are linked – unbilically, eternally

To a friend we have yet to meet
To a promise yet fulfilled
And a song we will one day hear

We’re doing well and have had a lovely weekend as a family together; today is Mothers day here in the UK so I was handed some perfect hand made cards along with lots of snuggles and a bag of goodies as I barely opened my eyes this morning; I am blessed!

Thank you so much for all your precious comments and emails; we have felt the huge embrace of friends and family from all over the world through prayer and kindness.

May you know God’s amazing blessing in your homes this week

Every blessing to you guys, in my thoughts and prayers. Dave, I never realized you were so poetic. Lovely. May God bring joy in the morning and may your story touch the hearts of many, who need the touch of a saviour. Xxx

Bex, my hubby is an amazing (secret) poet!! I have boxes of poems that he has written me over the years…but no one knows of course!! Thank you for your continued love and prayer – blessings to you and your beautiful family.

lol- yes, not so secret now. Perhaps he should put them all into a little book one day, for a lovely keep sake. x
