Find HIM and find Favour

January 4, 2012

This is the kind of weather we’re getting in our little corner of the world today; howling wind and driving rain – perfect weather for hibernating, drinking hot chocolate and reading books whilst snuggled up…if only there weren’t piles of laundry to sort, rooms to clean, lessons to teach, meals to cook and life to live (smile); but it’s our life and I wouldn’t change it for the world!

So, amongst my feelings of delayed new year organisation, decorating and construction mess, lack of planning and the longest ‘to do’ lists you have every seen, I’ve been considering the blessing and favour of God.

Proverbs 8: 35 says “For whoever finds me finds life and receives favour from the LORD”; this scripture speaks of seeking God in everything we do, in all our coming and going, in our work, in our decisions, in our mothering and living our life.
We wait at His door, we seek His voice, His hand, and we, in turn, receive His favour.

Over breakfast this morning I read to the children from Deuteronomy 28 which tells us of the blessings for obedience; wow, what a list! I love the continuous picture of life, fruitfulness, beauty and growth and I’m praying this in for my life, my family, my church, my community and for YOU in 2012.

So whatever you find yourself doing today; whether you’re like me and still catching up with yourself or you’ve started 2012 running; consider finding Him in everything you do – from the mundane to the massive; and enjoy His abundant favour on your life.

Many blessings,

Be blessed when you come in and blessed when you go out (Deut 28:6)

Wonderful! It's all about Jesus but yet He lavishes His grace and favour on US if we pursue Him – wow!
