A lovely long weekend!

February 17, 2012

Sienna-Raine’s dedication day a few weeks ago; here she is

being prayed for by my parents

Today our travels are taking us further up north to enjoy some fun and family time. This week has been a school half term break which we don’t always adhere to but it gives us chance to take a breather, catch up with things around the home and see friends who aren’t usually available in the day.

I don’t know about other home educating families but our children don’t manage too well being out of routine, we’re still finding the balance of creating a daily rhythm for learning and home life but having the ability to gently adjust, sleep a little later, not always plan but just rest…we’re still getting there! I’m learning more than ever than little ones need routine and this Mama is a mess without planning time!

What is your experience with your family routine and ensuring you’ve planned every last detail? Is it a personality ‘thing’ or do you believe it truly brings freedom? I’d love to hear your thoughts!

Righto; off to throw a bag of things together (for 6…doesn’t sound so ‘whisked off for the weekend’ and cavalier now does it?!)…oops and before that still need to clear up the kitchen after having friends round for dinner last night as Dave and I flopped on the sofa and did nothing, shhhhh, don’t tell anyone that I do things like that!

Have a blessed weekend; enjoy your children, hold your hubby’s hand and take a few pics to remember it!

Happy days!
